If you disagree with any part of these terms, you do not have permission to access the Services.

Trade A Favor is a platform that connects individuals who want to exchange skills and favors without monetary transactions between members. We provide the technology platform and infrastructure to facilitate these connections. We are not a party to the actual favor exchanges between members.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

a. Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.

b. Account Creation

To access certain features, you must create an account providing accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
All activities that occur under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

c. Account Restrictions

One account per person
No automated account creation
No selling or transferring accounts
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

4. Subscription and Payment

a. Subscription Required

Access to the Services requires an active paid subscription. We offer various subscription tiers as described on our payment page.

b. Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to:

Pay all applicable fees
Provide accurate billing information
Authorize recurring charges for subscription renewals

c. Renewal and Cancellation

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
No refunds for partial subscription periods

d. Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription prices with 30 days’ notice. Your subscription will renew at the new price unless you cancel.

5. Member Conduct

a. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

Violate any laws or regulations
Infringe on others’ intellectual property rights
Harass, abuse, or harm other members
Provide false or misleading information
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services
Use the Services for commercial solicitation beyond favor exchanges
Exchange favors that involve monetary payment between members
Offer or request illegal services

b. Favor Exchanges

All favor exchanges are solely between members
We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of favors exchanged
Members are responsible for their own tax obligations related to favor exchanges
Favors should be of roughly equivalent value/effort when exchanged

c. Content Standards

Any content you post must:

Be accurate and truthful
Not contain harmful, offensive, or inappropriate material
Not violate others’ privacy
Not contain malware or malicious code

6. Intellectual Property

a. Our Property

The Services, including all content, features, and functionality, are owned by Trade A Favor and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

b. Your Content

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, modify, and display your content in connection with operating the Services.

c. Feedback

Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide become our property and may be used without compensation to you.

7. Privacy

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee:

Uninterrupted or error-free service
Accuracy or reliability of content
That defects will be corrected
That the Services are free of viruses or harmful components

b. Member Interactions

WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:

The conduct of any member
The quality, legality, or safety of favors exchanged
The ability of members to complete favor exchanges
The accuracy of member profiles or listings
Any damages arising from member interactions

c. No Professional Advice

Content on the Services is for informational purposes only and should not be construed as professional advice (legal, financial, medical, etc.).

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRADE A FAVOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
Damages exceeding the amount you paid to us in the past twelve months

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Trade A Favor, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from:

Your interactions with other members
Content you post on the Services

12. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

c. Venue

b. By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:

Harm other members or the Services
Fail to pay subscription fees

c. Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

Your right to use the Services ceases immediately
We may delete your account and content
Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect
